This week, Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin announced that the Biden administration had kept emails and data about safety from Dr. Anthony Fauci. He was the former White House Director for COVID-19 Response.
Johnson said in a statement to the press, “In the final days of the Biden Administration and years of obstructing the oversight efforts of [the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services] officials, I warned them I would subpoena, as chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, all records and COVID-19 data have been improperly held back for Congress and the American public for far too long. “
He added, “I issued a subpoena yesterday to HHS for all documents related to the government’s response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This includes a subset of Dr. Fauci’s emails and the safety and developments of the COVID-19 vaccines. Many of these records should have been turned over to me years ago, but the Biden administration opted to keep Congress and the public in the dark.”
According to a press release the subpoena requests “heavily redacted communications” regarding the pandemic. This includes emails sent and received by Fauci, information about the safety of COVID-19 vaccines, and records about side effects experienced by people who were vaccinated.
