A press conference held for Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) was abruptly shut down by a group of anti-Israel protesters after they disrupted her event.
A New York Police Department Officer onsite said that the Governor had planned a media event for Thursday at City University of New York. However, the event was canceled because of a protest planned outside of the governor’s press conference.
Around 35 protesters were heard chanting, “Kathy Hochul, go to Hell”, “Free, Free Palestine”, “CUNY going to Hell,” and “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be FREE”.
Several arrests were made during the protest.

Individuals gathered in protest of Hochul’s decision to pull a job post for a Palestinian Studies Professor role.
Hochul’s spokesperson told The New York Post that the governor had ordered CUNY “to immediately remove the job post and to conduct a comprehensive review of the role to make sure antisemitic ideas were not being promoted in classrooms.”
This protest is just one day after fifty anti-Israel activists took over a Barnard College building in New York City on Wednesday night.
Last January, an employee was assaulted amid the protests over the expulsions of two students for storming a Columbia University classroom.
