Maine Governor Defies Trump, Stands Firm on Transgender Policies Despite USDA Title IX Review

In a statement issued on Sunday, Maine’s Governor reaffirmed her commitment to the state’s policies on transgender people. The statement was filled with incendiary rhetoric about Trump’s administration’s attempts to undermine the rule of law.

In light of President Trump’s executive order on men in women’s sports, Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins revealed on Saturday the administration has initiated a review of the University of Maine’s Title IX compliance. In another piece, Gov. Mills plays to the liberal crowd with his fear-mongering about Trump’s goals and that more “investigations”, among other warnings, are heading toward other states.
