Social Media Erupts After Dem Senator Insults Brains of Trump Voters

Conservatives ripped Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin on Twitter on Tuesday after she compared the election of President Donald Trump to “angry teenage” years in the United States when voters’ brains were still forming.

Slotkin told ABC’s The View that he had a duty to represent his entire state. “People voted both for Trump and for me. I am responsible for my state. But I don’t believe anyone feels that what is happening right now, as it stands, is normal. Even if you’ve voted for Trump. Right?”

“I think there is a feeling in the country, and I often say this, you know, we’re about to turn 250 years old, right? We’re still pretty young for a country. These are, like, our angry teenage years. We are going through this push and pull where we’re happy, we’re sad. We want this, we want that, and what do you do when you have a teenager threatening themselves and others? You just try to get them through this period alive so that their brain can fully form and you can come back to kind of what,” Slotkin said before being cut off by Joy Behar.

Are you talking about Trump? Behar asked.

Slotkin replied, “I’m not talking about your country. I am speaking of ours. We’re a pendulum swinging. I don’t believe there is a single American who thinks that this is normal.”

Slotkin’s remarks were interpreted as an insult by conservatives on social media.

Abigail Jackson posted on X that “Ah, yes, after the election loss, Democrats are just going back to calling Americans dumb for voting against Democrats.” There was not a single shred of self-awareness.

Slotkin said this, sounding almost like a teenager …

This is supposed to be their intelligent, reasonable messenger? Guy Benson, Fox News’s contributor, posted on X.

Stephen L. Miller, a contributing editor at the Spectator, posted on X.: “Interesting to see how they compare their argument on transitioning teens.”

“Wow!” RedState’s Bonchie shared a post on X. What a novel, fresh take. This has never been said before. “Elissa Slotkin, the future leader of the Democratic Party,”

“This is monumentally insulting to the millions of Americans that voted for a change last November,” Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Wis., posted on X.

Slotkin admitted in a “Meet the Press” interview on Sunday that the Democratic Party had been “on the heels” of Trump since his election.

She said that the Democratic Party had lost confidence after its loss to Trump. I think we need to have a clear strategy and not just a leader – there are many in both parties. “I think it’s on us to be clear about not only leadership – and there are many leaders in both parties – but also a strategy. We’re still finding our feet because Trump is successful at flooding the area and 15 different things happen every day.
