Why Is the Postal Service Helping With Deportations? WashPost Investigates

The left constantly screeches about how enforcing our immigration laws is somehow “inhumane” or “racist.” However, if we have constitutional laws, then by definition, enforcing those laws is not only permissible but necessary for a functioning society. The idea that we should simply ignore our immigration laws is ridiculous.

The Washington Post recently reported that the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is assisting in locating individuals residing in the country illegally. This is entirely reasonable and, frankly, should be expected of any federal agency. The left claims this is some sort of overreach, but here’s the reality: if you’re using U.S. postal services while residing here illegally, you’re actively engaging with a federal system. The notion that this information should be off-limits to immigration enforcement is a fundamental misunderstanding of how law enforcement works.

Let’s say, for the sake of argument, that we accepted the left’s position that no federal agency should assist in immigration enforcement. What would be the logical conclusion? Either we’d have no immigration enforcement at all – which is tantamount to open borders – or we’d have to create a massively inefficient, siloed enforcement agency. Both options are patently absurd.

The collaboration between agencies like the Postal Service and DHS is crucial for effective law enforcement. The data clearly shows that interagency cooperation leads to more efficient identification and removal of individuals who are in the country illegally, particularly those involved in criminal activities.

In conclusion, enforcing our immigration laws is not optional. It’s a fundamental responsibility of the federal government. The left’s opposition to these common-sense measures is nothing more than virtue signaling at the expense of national security and the rule of law.
