Florida Rep. Kat Cammack Says Death Threats Forced Office Evacuation

Florida Representative Kat Cammack reported an evacuation of her offices late Wednesday due to imminent threats directed at her and her family. The threats, she says, have arisen in the aftermath of a Wall Street Journal piece detailing her personal experience with an ectopic pregnancy and the related complications she faced under Florida’s stringent six-week abortion ban.

Cammack’s situation reflects the escalating concerns many have regarding treatment for pregnancy complications since 2022. It was then that the reversal of Roe v. Wade led to abortion bans or severe restrictions in numerous states. These state-level bans typically permit exceptions when the life of the pregnant individual is at risk.
