Secret Service Agent Caught Trying to Smuggle Wife Onto Trump Support Plane

There’s a certain Secret Service agent out in Dallas, fresh out of training, who decided to test the law and order he’s supposed to uphold. This agent, whose name remains under wraps, thought he could outwit his colleagues by smuggling his wife aboard a support plane that was tailing President Trump on his Scottish jaunt, sources told Susan Crabtree, a reporter for RealClearPolitics.

The agent’s wife managed to hop a ride from Texas to Maryland, received the official Secret Service briefing at the hotel, and even boarded the bus to the distinguished visitor lounge at Joint Base Andrews. However, she was discovered and promptly asked to disembark before the flight, five Secret Service insiders revealed.

‘The stakes couldn’t be higher for this agent. He’s been written up for misconduct multiple times already at the Rowley Training Center in D.C. If held to proper standards, he could wash out of the service altogether,” Crabtree reports. Consider this perspective for a moment. This is more than just one agent’s error in judgment. It raises questions about the integrity and professionalism of the Secret Service, an organization tasked with protecting our nation’s highest office.

In response, the U.S. Secret Service issued a statement confirming that they are conducting a personnel investigation. The agent was reportedly advised by his supervisors that his actions were not permissible, and though his wife was prevented from taking the flight, it leaves a lingering question. If this agent, a watchdog of the American government, can so brazenly ignore the rules, what does it mean for the security of our nation’s leaders?

This incident, minor as it may seem, is a reminder that those tasked with upholding our laws are not exempt from them. Let’s hope the Secret Service can correct course and ensure that this kind of misconduct is nipped in the bud.
