Nick Sortor Arrested Covering Anti-ICE Anarchy

What we’re witnessing in Portland is nothing short of the systematic persecution of conservative journalists by both radical leftist agitators and, sadly, law enforcement officials who seem more interested in appeasing the mob than protecting constitutional rights.

On October 3rd, 2025, conservative journalist Nick Sortor, 27, was arrested in Portland while covering anti-ICE protests. Let’s say you’re a journalist doing your job, documenting a protest, when suddenly you witness protesters attempting to burn an American flag. What do you do? Sortor did what any patriotic American would do – he intervened to protect our national symbol.

The response? The Portland Police Bureau, in their infinite wisdom, arrested Sortor along with two others – Angela Davis, 49, and Son Mi Yi, 43 – charging all three with second-degree disorderly conduct. This is the same police department, mind you, that has repeatedly failed to arrest violent Antifa members who routinely assault conservative journalists.

If you’re a law enforcement agency tasked with maintaining public order, wouldn’t you prioritize arresting violent attackers over journalists protecting American flags? The answer is obviously yes, unless you’re operating under the left’s twisted paradigm, where defending American values somehow constitutes a greater offense than attacking peaceful journalists.

The situation became so concerning that Department of Homeland Security officials determined Sortor’s life could be at risk in the general prison population. Think about that for a moment. We’ve reached a point where being a conservative journalist in Portland is literally considered a safety risk in jail.

This incident didn’t occur in a vacuum. Just one day before his arrest, Sortor appeared on national television discussing the persistent attacks on conservative journalists by anti-ICE protesters and Antifa operatives. The timing here is, shall we say, rather convenient for those who’d prefer to silence conservative voices.

Consider the case of journalist Katie Daviscourt, who suffered a black eye during these same protests. Despite physically identifying her attacker to the police, no arrest was made. The Portland Police Bureau’s response? A tepid statement about “attempting to locate” the attacker. This is what we call selective enforcement, folks.

The logical conclusion here is inescapable: Portland has become ground zero for the left’s assault on conservative journalism. When law enforcement arrests those defending American symbols while allowing violent leftist agitators to operate with impunity, we’ve entered dangerous territory.

Here’s the bottom line: This isn’t about one journalist or one incident. This is about the systematic attempt to silence conservative voices through intimidation, violence, and selective law enforcement.
