Rep. Brandon Gill of Texas has issued a stark warning about what happens if Democrats reclaim control of the House of Representatives. According to Gill, investigations into birth tourism agencies that facilitate foreign nationals traveling to the United States specifically to give birth will immediately end. Instead, Democrats will redirect those congressional gavels toward investigating the very people responsible for removing illegal aliens from American soil.

Let us be clear about what birth tourism actually entails. Foreign nationals, primarily wealthy individuals from countries like China, pay agencies tens of thousands of dollars for packages that help them secure temporary visas, travel to the United States, give birth on American soil, and return home with an American citizen baby. The child receives automatic citizenship through a dubious interpretation of the Fourteenth Amendment, despite having no genuine connection to this country beyond the geographical location of birth.

Gill chairs the Task Force on Defending Constitutional Rights and Exposing Institutional Abuses, which has been conducting a House Oversight Committee investigation into multiple birth tourism agencies operating in Florida, Texas, and California. His task force sent letters to four specific agencies demanding documentation about their childbirth packages and how they coach foreign clients on securing temporary visas without explicitly revealing their true purpose for entering the United States.

The agencies under investigation include Have My Baby in Miami, Maternity Services in El Paso, International Maternity Services also in El Paso, Doctores Para Ti in El Paso, and an OB/GYN clinic in San Diego. These operations represent a systematic exploitation of American immigration law and a direct assault on national sovereignty.

In correspondence with executives at Have My Baby in Miami, Gill acknowledged that while giving birth in the United States is not inherently illegal for foreign travelers, misrepresenting intentions to enter the country on a temporary visitor visa constitutes visa fraud under current law. This is the crucial distinction that Democrats apparently have no interest in pursuing.

The logic here is inescapable. Birth tourism agencies are coaching foreign nationals on how to lie to immigration officials. They are facilitating visa fraud on an industrial scale. They are helping foreign citizens exploit American citizenship laws for their children while contributing nothing to American society. Yet Democrats would rather investigate immigration enforcement officials doing their jobs than the agencies undermining American sovereignty.
