Trump Vows to Crush Antisemitism, Promises to Remove ‘Jew-Haters’ if Re-Elected

Published on

Former President Donald Trump gave a fiery address at a memorial ceremony on October 7, commemorating Hamas’ massacre of Israeli civilians in their surprise attack which ignited the war in Gaza.

The former president made a promise at the event held in Florida’s Trump National Doral that if he won the next election, he would “remove all Jew-haters from power”. The former president used the event to reaffirm that he is committed to the Jewish community of the United States.

“I will defend the American Jewish community.” Trump said, “I will protect your schools, communities, places of worship, and values.” Trump also pledged to take action against those who he considered enemies of the Jewish community, saying, “We are going to remove all the Jew-haters, because they do nothing for our country, but only want to destroy it.”

The former president didn’t go into detail about who these “Jew-haters,” were or how he might remove them. But he did make it clear that, in his opinion, antisemitism is becoming more commonplace in American society.

He said that the anti-Jewish hate has returned to America. It is in our streets, media, and college campuses, as well as within the ranks and the Democrat Party.

Trump’s comments come amid a renewed pro-Hamas protest on university campuses and city streets. Since the beginning of the war in October 2023, antisemitic activists have organized marches, camps, and other demonstrations that feature antisemitic rants and call for universities to break ties with Israel. Trump called these individuals “Jihadist sympathizers.”

The former president made it clear in his speech that he wanted to strengthen the ties between Israel and the United States.

He said, “The bond between Israel and the United States is strong and lasting… If and when I am president of the United States it will be once again stronger and closer than ever before.”

Many in the Jewish Community support Trump’s efforts to protect Israel. Others have criticized his remarks about Jewish people who vote Democrat.

He said, “Any Jewish voter who votes for Democrats is a hateful person.” In March, he was criticizing Senator Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY), for his outbursts against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They hate Israel and should be ashamed because Israel will be wiped out.

Antisemitism is on the rise in Western countries and the United States. Pro-Hamas militants have in many cases violently attacked Jewish students and citizens. Trump’s speech is timely as his campaign ramps up its outreach to Jewish Voters who could represent an important voting bloc in the coming election.
