Hilary Clinton PAC Pours Thousands Into Vulnerable Dem Races

Published on

Hillary Clinton’s political committee is investing thousands of dollars in campaigns for vulnerable House Democrats ahead the midterm elections. This comes as the party struggles to hold onto its razor-thin majority.
According to a Federal Election Commission filing, Onward Together, a Clinton-founded organization, has contributed to the campaigns of more than 12 House Democrats in the country, who are in tight races in November.

In midterm elections, the White House typically loses approximately 25 House seats. According to the Fox News Power Rankings, Republicans will be able to win at most a 7-seat majority (2225 seats) or as high as a 37 seat majority (377 seats) to take control.

Some Democrats are putting themselves at risk of losing their seats by downplaying the economic state and seizing on issues such as the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot and abortion rights.

Cindy Axne (D-Iowa), who is facing a difficult battle to keep her seat in this cycle’s election, received $2,500 last month from Onward Together.

Axne described the inflation crisis as a “narrative” that is being promoted by Republicans to “scare people” ahead the elections.

Onward Together donated $2,500 to the campaign of Elaine Luria (D-Virginia), last month.

Luria released a campaign ad recently praising her work on the committee for defending American democracy.

Even Clinton, a prolific user of Twitter, has not tweeted about rising prices or inflation a single time. In recent weeks, she has been vocal about abortion, guns, and the Jan.6 committee.
After a USA Today/Suffolk University poll in June found that just 15% of likely voters considered abortion the most important issue heading into the midterms, the Democrats have reacted accordingly. When asked what is more important to them, they chose the economy 66% to 23%.

The White House blames inflation for the COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing supply-chain problems, and the Russia-Ukraine crises driving up energy prices. Republicans blame Biden’s green agenda for reducing domestic oil production, and his $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan to over-stimulating it.

Biden was criticised for blaming Republicans last week for the country’s economic problems despite his party controlling the executive and legislative branches.
