President Joe Biden recently urged businesses and nonprofit leaders to require their employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19. His announcement comes shortly after the Food and Drug Administration announced a full approval of the Pfizer shot. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are still authorized for emergency use and have yet to be fully approved. The White House is currently requiring all federal employees to either get vaccinated or suffer through daily COVID-19 tests and strict mask requirements. Now, they are pushing the mandates on everyone else. When did politicians become unlicensed medical practitioners?
While this is good for those who have wanted the shot to have full FDA approval, Biden’s urge to instill requirements on the people because of it is unconstitutional. It violates our freedom and the right to make our own medical decisions. Not to mention, there’s a crisis in Afghanistan that Biden should be addressing instead.
“If you’re a business leader, a nonprofit leader, a state or local leader who has been waiting for full FDA approval to require vaccinations, I call on you now to do that requiring. Do what I did last month — require your employees to get vaccinations or face strict requirements,” President Biden said.
Biden called it a “key milestone” to the nation’s battle against the virus, adding that “vaccination requirements have been around for decades.” He said students have received vaccinations for preventing things such as smallpox, measles, mumps, and rubella, but did not talk about underwriting any liabilities for the companies mandating these vaccinations.
Critics have been questioning whether or not Pfizer, J&J, Moderna, and others, will list the possible side-effects and warnings as other medications or if they will continue to tell us to “trust us” and avoid lawsuits at every turn.
Biden noted a 56% uptick in vaccination rates over the last month, as well as 6 million vaccinations in the last seven days alone. But the Biden Administration has been rolling out vaccine requirements among federal workers, nursing home employed, medical facilities, and even members of the armed forces.
Many larger companies have also instilled their own vaccine mandates including Delta, Citigroup, Facebook, Equinox Group, and Goldman Sachs. The list of companies requiring employees to be vaccinated grows by the day without a single acknowledgment of any serious adverse reactions. United Airlines was one of the larger companies to announce a vaccine mandate, adding that all 67,000 employees needed to get the jab or get fired.
President Biden then addressed the American people and said if you’re one of the “millions of Americans” who’ve been waiting for final approval from the FDA, then this is the moment you’re waiting for. He urged people to go out and get their vaccinations. “Get it today,” he insisted.
At the end of his speech, Biden did not mention the crisis in Afghanistan and left without taking any questions from reporters. “Do you know how many Americans are left in Afghanistan sir?” one reporter asked as Biden walked away.
It’s disappointing that the Biden Administration still can’t put a number on the Americans stuck in the country, but it’s also an indicator of how out of touch with reality Biden is. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby also refused to share any details about getting Americans out of Afghanistan, but said he was just going to leave it at “several thousand.”
The Biden Administration has yet to acknowledge whether or not they will get out all of the Americans by the August 31 deadline. All we know is that President Biden is walking away from questions, leadership, and all responsibility. Democrats created the mess and need to be called out on it. Meanwhile, Biden is pushing more unconstitutional mandates for no reason other than to have the most political power he can. All over a disease with a 97% mortality rate.
