President Joe Biden’s poll numbers have gotten so bad in his presidency that he has become the most disappointing U.S president since Democrat Harry Truman, who attempted to fill the shoes of his predecessor, Franklin Roosevelt, in 1945. After a plummeting September jobs report and an average rating of 44.7%, Biden can’t even gain the support of Democrats in the key state of New Hampshire.
President Biden previously lost the 2020 New Hampshire Democratic primary, coming behind Sen. Bernie Sanders, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren. The 2022 New Hampshire U.S Senate Race is preparing itself to be a competitive match between Democratic Sen. Maggie Hassan and Republican Gov. Chris Sununu. Sununu is currently leading the polls from 45% to 42%. Critics have also noted that former President Donald Trump should be preparing for a win in the key state of New Hampshire, should he decide to run in 2024.
One of the most recent polls coming out of New Hampshire found a 45% to 29% margin of Democrat voters wanting Biden to face some sort of opposition in the 2024 primaries. The Granite State Poll was conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center taken between October 14 and 18, including 1,061 respondents.
That is a huge switch from July numbers, which the president polled at 38% of voters wanting him to run unopposed. Back in July, 49% of Democrats said they planned to vote for Biden in 2024, with 43% saying they were “unsure” and 9% wanting an alternative. In the latest numbers, 37% of Democrats said they plan to vote for Biden, with 52% saying they were “unsure” and 11% wanting another candidate.
Vice President Kamala Harris is polling in at far worse numbers, with 24% saying they had a “positive” view of her while 55% said they viewed her “unfavorably.” Biden saw his worst ratings last week after a nationwide Zogby poll placed him at 36.4% in job performance. This is the lowest his ratings have been in the first nine months of his presidency. Many voters noted that he lost support over his botched Afghanistan withdrawal, a supply chain crisis, and federal vaccine mandates.
Even Saturday Night Live, a notably left-leaning television show, couldn’t help but poke at Biden’s latest job performance numbers. The sketch showed an SNL “version” of Biden struggling with bad poll numbers, Democratic infighting, and criticism over his policies. Actress Chloe Fineman played White House press secretary Jen Psaki and joked with SNL Biden that the “CNN Town Hall was watched by no one and your approval rating is in the dumpster.”
“I’m bad at lying so I’m just going to leave,” Fineman’s Psaki said before exiting the set.
SNL continued a skit where the “ghost of Biden past” appears to talk about how much everyone used to love him. He plays a 2013 Biden, who is still Vice President, and talks about being carefree and happy before the presidency.
“Easiest gig in the world. We’re like America’s wacky neighbor, you know? Just pop in with some ice cream cones, some aviator shades, just finger guns, you know, shake a few hands, rub a few shoulders,” the ghost of Biden’s past said.
The ghost even warned him that he’s no longer allowed to “rub shoulders” or “shake hands.” SNL even included a segment of the show where Biden gets a “whiff” of his latter self’s neck scent before telling him “you’ve got to smile more, Sweetie.” The show continued to take jabs at Biden, even pointing out that he hasn’t visited the southern border but his “approval rating has.”
More people are realizing that Biden lacks the charisma and capabilities to put the country back on track. He’s been spouting so much garbage since taking the Oval Office, that even Saturday Night Live is throwing some jabs at him. That should say something.
