Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s team (R) is targeting Democrats to highlight the growing successes of the governor’s approach to Chinese coronavirus. Campaign merchandise invites Americans to “Escape Florida” and highlights the hypocrisy among Democrats who have come to Florida to seek freedom.
“Escape Florida,” the shirt says, mocking Democrat policies and highlighting the “Lockdown Libs Tour”. The shirt’s back shows the hypocrisy displayed by several well-known Democrats who recently visited Florida, including the Michigan Governor. Gretchen Whitmer, New Jersey Governor. Phil Murphy (D), CNN’s Don Lemon, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D–NY) — along with their destinations, much as a traditional band tee.
The shirt says, “We don’t blame you…We like freedom, too,” and ends with the signature of the governor:
During last week’s State of the State address, the governor called Florida “America’s liberty post”. He highlighted the achievements of his administration. He noted, perhaps most importantly, that Florida opposed the “biomedical secure state” that restricts liberty, destroys livelihoods, and divides society.
“Florida is the escape hatch for those who are chafing beneath authoritarian, arbitrary, seemingly never-ending orders and restrictions,” he stated. He also criticized blue state leaders and policies, saying that they were “grounded more blindly to Faucian declarations” than in the constitutional traditions that form the foundation of free countries.
In fact, people have continued to flock to Florida in spite of additional restrictions in the country. DeSantis announced in November that Republicans had made history in Florida, surpassing Democrats in voter registration.
“Because COVID, people realize that the governor has been more consequential to your daily life than the President of the United States,” DeSantis stated last week during Ruthless’ appearance.
He predicted that there would be a “tsunami of turnout in November 2022” because of the opportunity to not only get everyone to the polls but also to get your neighbors and friends who don’t vote in these races.
