More than 800 illegal migrants crossed the Rio Grande into Texas by Laredo Sector Border Patrol officers last week. The agents also apprehended another 2,000 migrants who had crossed the border into South Texas from ports of entry.
Carl E. Landrum, Chief Patrol Agent for Laredo Sector, tweeted images showing migrants being smuggled into America from Mexico. Images also show migrants being prevented from crossing the border and returning to Mexico.
Agents also apprehended over 2,000 migrants in a week, along with the 800 turn-backs.
Chief Landrum stated that “Laredo Sector agents are vigilant in their work for protecting our nation and community from any threats.”
Officials from U.S. Border Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced Landrum’s promotion as Chief Patrol Agent for the Laredo sector.
Laredo Sector, the southwest border sector that reported the largest decrease in migrant apprehensions during the first quarter of fiscal year 22, is the only one.
