ESPN Personality Mike Greenberg Rips Fred Couples For His Masters Attire During Final Round

Fred Couples became the oldest competitor at the Masters and made history.

Couples’ attire for the final round was not up to the standards of at least one viewer who tuned in to the first major golf tournament of the season.

ESPN’s Mike Greenberg took the 63 year-old’s clothes apart as he attempted to keep up with the rest.

“Fred Couples, sweatshirt? “Fred Couples, sweatshirt? He seems to be doing some housework and someone reminded his of his tee times,” Greenberg tweeted.

“How relaxed can you be to play the final round at the #Masters wearing attire that is not allowed at any other country club?”

Augusta National was battling cold and gloomy weather for the entire weekend. This is likely why Couples wore warmer clothes.

Couples won the final round with a score of 4-over par. Couples completed his second round Saturday morning to be at +1 for tournament and made the cut by two strokes.

Couples made it his 38th Masters appearance. It’s a new record for him. With 23 consecutive cuts at Augusta, he, Gary Player, and Tiger Woods share the record.

Couples was automatically invited to the tournament as he was a Masters Champion. He beat Raymond Floyd to win the 1992 tournament. This is his only major championship.
