Kenyan Cult Suspected of Organ Harvesting from Starved Victims

Marshall Applewhite, Jim Jones, David Koresh — to that list of infamous cult leaders who led their followers to their deaths should be added, Pastor Paul Mackenzie. Mackenzie convinced his hundreds of followers that the path to Jesus was through starvation. He also opposed formal education and believed in a global conspiracy involving the Vatican, the UN, and the U.S., and that doctors “serve a different god.”

The investigation is continuing, and 133 corpses were found in two locations. Mackenzie remains in jail.

Rhoda Onyancha said, “We exhumed today 21 bodies from nine graves. The exercise will continue tomorrow. “She added that with the latest exhumations, the total now stands at 133.

CBSNews:

In documents filed on Monday, the police claimed that organs were removed from some corpses. The police also said that the suspects were involved in forced body part harvesting.

In a sworn statement submitted to a Nairobi Court by chief inspector Martin Munene, he stated that post-mortem reports revealed missing organs in some exhumed bodies.

He stated that he believes the trade of human organs is well coordinated among several players but did not give any further details about the suspected trafficking.

Munene said that Ezekiel Odeo, an acclaimed Christian televangelist who was arrested in the same criminal case last month, and released on bail, had received “huge cash transactions” from Mackenzie’s followers. The followers sold their property at the leader’s bid.

Mackenzie was obsessed with the idea of “Judgment Day” and warned that a satanic force had infiltrated every level of power in the world. His insistence that his followers give up their possessions and money put him at the same level as Jones Applewhite, and Koresh.

The Conversation

Mackenzie now faces charges for the deaths. Victims were drawn to him from all over the country. His controversial teachings had been scrutinized by the government in 2017. Mackenzie’s apocalyptic tales focused on the end of the world and were against Western or modern lifestyles, such as music, education or seeking medical attention. Mackenzie also referred to the Catholic Church, the United Nations, and

He was charged in 2019 with inciting disobedience of the law and for distributing illegal movies to the general public.

Ezekiel Odeo is a well-known televangelist who has been known for his so-called miracle healing campaign, which draws tens of thousands of people. Odero is currently being investigated by the police over crimes related to Shakahola’s suicide.

These people are scammers, charlatans, and con artists who have entered the business of harvesting organs. Instead of waiting for the organ donor to die they convinced them to take their own lives.
