The progressives are not satisfied with changing the way Americans view gender and sexuality. They want to alter the meaning of another word, virginity.
Planned Parenthood published a video Thursday that argues the traditional conception of virginity as a concept is incorrect. The video argues that virginity does not mean someone has never had sex.
The woman in the video says, “Virginity was invented.” It’s a word that was invented to shame and control people, mostly women.
She continues to say that “sex is defined differently by different people” and that society tends to define it in a very limited way.

In general, society tends to define sex very narrowly. Penetration, penis into the vagina. What about queer people who are unable to or choose not to have penis-vagina sex, but prefer oral, anal, or other types of sex?
The woman continued, highlighting that women and men are treated differently by society when it comes to virginity and sex.
It is not just the women who are held responsible for virginity, but also men. Society shames women for having sex, while also putting pressure on men to not have a relationship. It must make sense. Shame has no place at all in a person’s decision about sex.
The woman says, “It’s time to let go of the idea of losing virginity” near the end of the video.
We hope to gain intimacy, self-insight, pleasure, and empowerment. These myths about virginity and sex can be hurtful and overwhelming. Here’s one thing you need to remember. You are the only thing that defines sex. Perhaps it’s the first time you have been fingered. It could be anal sex. Or maybe it’s your first orgasm. It could be your first masturbation or consenting to sex enthusiastically. Your sexual journey is beautiful.
Virginity! What is it? What it isn’t. And what’s the big deal about “losing” it? Let’s talk about it: https://t.co/pOQllDfAHo pic.twitter.com/yANUxTaF8s

She made some good points about the double standards of virginity. The rest of the woman’s diatribe, however, was just another far-leftist claptrap meant to challenge traditional values. This is an attempt to discredit the importance that many cultures, and even individuals, place on virginity.
Many people in the world value the concept of abstaining from sexual activity until marriage. It is not necessary to follow this principle if you don’t agree with it. The idea that Planned Parenthood and other organizations would attempt to completely change the meaning of the term is another way for the far left to impose their ideology on the rest of the nation.
