In 2022 the split within the LGBTQ community was very noticeable. More and more lesbians and gays suggested that it might be time to get rid of the “T.”
Lesbians in particular began to speak out about how they rejected transgenders in their spaces, and that some lesbians had even been pushed out. The “erasure of lesbians” was a major concern. Joint publications issued a statement in which they condemned the invasion by men who identify as women.
This sentiment grew in the second half of the year. Twitter trended with the hashtag “#LGBKickOutTheT”. The hashtag was created after it became known that men who were identifying as women went into lesbian bars to try to force lesbians into sexual relations. They would shame and pressure them if necessary.
Since then, this sentiment has grown to the point that former gay and lesbian activists are now expressing regret over opening the door for the modern transgender or gender-fluid movement. One woman in particular expressed regret over fighting for equal rights of gays and lesbians on TikTok.
This is how so many of us feel now.

This sentiment is easily understood.
Some gays and lesbians I know personally have always had a “live-and-let-live” mentality. It’s fine that many gays and lesbians wanted the same rights as others. In a society where people are free to do as they please, as long as they don’t force their lifestyles on others.
The activist community became hubristic and began to push agendas and gender-fluid policies to gain more control. LGBT activists today have abandoned the “live and let it live” mantra and want to impose their agendas on all aspects of society, from schools to elected offices.
This is far from the goals of many activists yesterday.
Contrary to popular opinion, the LGBT community does not fit all. You’ll see a wide range of political beliefs and nuances in the opinions expressed by people. Many people who identify as members of this community do not make being gay or a lesbian their most important trait. This sentiment is more prevalent among older members.
Activists today have made this the only thing important about an individual. This is very common among leftists. They believe the identity of a person comes first, second, and third.
This is a part of the woke movement, which stands now on the shoulders a movement that was built to be left alone. Now it’s been coopted and used to force people into submission.
I sympathize with those in the LGB communities, but this was predicted a long time ago. In the past, only a few freedom movements have truly led to freedom. Most of them become institutionalized, and they are used to gain power.
It’s not that we should all be treated equally as our Constitution states, but very few movements are innocent and those who are usually die soon after they achieve their goal. The gay rights movement has never been finished and is now being used to achieve a new goal.
