Bill Maher, comedian, said that teenagers should not talk about climate change on a forthcoming episode of his podcast “Club Random,” as they are polluting as Maher’s generation.
When Dana Carvey and Maher were talking about travel, Maher stated that he likes flying private, and that the only people who don’t like it are those who can’t.
Maher said that Greta Thunberg, a climate activist, would likely refuse to fly private to save the climate.
Before Maher said that Carvey started impersonating Thunberg, Carvey told Maher that he thought Thunberg was a “brave individual” but didn’t accurately represent her generation.
“I think that [Greta] doesn’t represent her generation. People who love to blame us, like me, also think she isn’t. “You’ve wrecked the planet!” You’re sailing with Greta all the time. So you’re as addicted to cars as we were, so get out of my way! We all agreed that we would just drive over the Grand Canyon, having a blast along the way,” Maher stated.
He said, “And so long as that’s the thing we’ve decided on, I’m going to not be the schmuck driving three-foot cars.”
Maher attacked Thunberg, and other members her generation, in 2021. He said that the “teen” and “young people should “shut up the fuckup”, and that she doesn’t have as much influence on her generation than other popular figures.
